There are two ways to search the database:

Basic search
  • By type of document
  • By region or by country (click on the continent to display the list of countries)
  • By keyword Enter one or more key words to search for the terms in all fields (authors/organisations, regions, countries, type of publication, date). You can search for “all of the words” or “any of the words”. You can also enter an expression in quotation marks to search for the exact phrase.

Advanced search
You can refine your search by combining different fields (authors/organisations, regions, countries, type of publication, date)

The different fields are combined using the and operator and :

For example: Country=Mali and Type of publication=EFA (Education for All)


You can enter several words in the same field (separated by ;).

For example :
  • Country=Mali;Niger;Senegal
    will bring up responses for Country=Mali or Niger or Senegal

You can also use the alphabetical index (List button), and click on a letter. This will display all terms beginning with that letter.

Within the alphabetical index is the option “Terms containing”.
For example, if you enter “ministr”, it will bring up a list of all ministries whatever letter they begin with.

Click on the chosen term and validate.
